Before Midnight: ‘what grown-up romantics have instead of lightsabers’ | Film | The Guardian

Before Midnight by Richard Linlakter

If you, like me, are a faithful follower of Richard Linklater’s trilogy, you may want to read this review of The Guardian. Fortunately there are no spoilers in it, so you can still enjoy a good word about the film, keeping the feeling of ‘I want to watch it now’ without any regret of having something revealed.

I came across this movies long after Before Sunset was released, it was almost because of an accidental recommendation, but it has been one of the most significant. I think this movies are wonderful not just because they are funny, touching, mature, philosophic and yes! also romantic, but because they also show how some contemporary relationships are, how they should be or perhaps how we wish them to be. It speaks about the real connections that we all have the potential to find if we just dare to trust. In my point of view this films leave a drop of hope in the heart of the ‘romantic’ and that is something worth holding onto.

So, if you have not watched any of these films, here, get enticed!
