Based on the novel by Victor Hugo Les Misérables. This musical is set in France and shows the life of the people living from 1815 to the June Rebellion in 1832, focusing on the story of Jean Valjean, an ex-convict that breaks parole and struggles in his life looking for redemption, while evading Inspector Javert who wants to send him back to prison. Jean meets Fantine, a young woman who has fallen in disgrace and helps her by taking care of her illegitimate daughter Cossette, who becomes a light and source of strength in his life.
With a smile in my face I declare to have enjoyed very much of this movie! I know that the trailer is very powerful with Fantine’s song, but in my point of view all the performances, songs and music in this film are delightful and worth to be mentioned. Writing only about the film, the story took me through different levels of emotions and by the end of the journey I was left with a light of hope and beauty, even though there is a deep tragedy depicted, it was a pleasant challenge to look for a sense of hopefulness, strength and love.
